Joseph Joel Laxton, 38, of 3201 Duval Road, Apt. 816, Austin, Texas, passed away Monday, July 12, 2010, at his residence.

Mr. Laxton was born in Charleston, W.Va., and was the son of Ulysses McKinley Laxton Jr. and Betty Lou Bailey Laxton of Mooresboro, N.C. He was employed by National Instruments as a computer technician supervisor and was of the Pentecostal faith.

Surviving in addition to his parents are five brothers, Richard Laxton, Buddy Laxton, James Laxton, Alvin Laxton and Chris Laxton; and five sisters, Barbara Hacker, Loretta Kenny, Jenny Laxton, Joyce Laxton and Ruthie Laxton.

Mr. Laxton wad preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jane Laxton.

Services will be held Wednesday, July 21, at 11 a.m. in Springhill Funeral Home Chapel, 1011 S. Alabama Ave., Chesnee, conducted by the Rev. Douglas Thrift. Burial will be in Springhill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will precede the service in the chapel from 10-11 a.m.

The family is at the home of his parents, 6717 Hwy. 221, Mooresboro, N.C.
