White new DSN executive director
Joseph D. White has been named as the new Executive Director of the Cherokee County Disabilities and Special Needs Board (CCDSNB). White is the former President of Vocational Solutions of Henderson County, NC which provides employment and training for adults with disabilities. White began his duties as Executive Director on July 19.
“The Board of Directors of the CCDSNB is pleased to have found someone with the experience and leadership skills as Joe White. During this time of limited resources from the State, our organization needs someone who can do more with less and we believe that Joe White will help us to do that while continuing to serve our consumers in the most efficient and effective way possible,” said CCDSNB board chairman Dr. Joette Johnson.
White holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Western Carolina University. He brings with him more than 23 years of experience in business administration; however, he feels he has been most impacted by his experience working with people with disabilities. “After spending most of my employment since college with major companies like Sara Lee Corporation and Milliken and Company, the last seven years have been the most rewarding…I bring business experience, not for profit experience, enthusiasm, and maybe most importantly, a passion for improving the lives of people with disabilities,” said Joe White, CCDSNB Executive Director.
The Board is located at 959 E. O’Neal Street and the phone number is 864-487-4190.
