BLACKSBURG – Dixie Louise Walker, 93, of 319 Sims Road, died Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

A native of Polk County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late John and Dovie Millard Connor and a member of Garden Temple Assembly of God.

She is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Jones and husband, Danny Lann, of Blacksburg; and Faye Fortenberry and husband, Carl, of Columbia, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jason Fortenberry, Aaron Fortenberry, Thomas Jones, Brenda Petty and Julie McClure; 13 greatgrandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration Of Life Service will be held Saturday, July 24, at 3 p.m. at White Columns Chapel with the Rev. Danny Marshburn officiating. Burial will follow in Clingman Memorial Gardens.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Members of the family are at their respective homes.
