Burman Parker
Burman Glenn Parker, 76, of 691 Bonner Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 23, 2010, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Cherokee County, he was the son of the late Henry Burman Parker and Mattie Hall Parker. He was a Mason, a charter member of Cherokee Creek Fire Department and retired from textiles. Mr. Parker was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon and song leader. He was a loving father and friend and never met a stranger.
Surviving are a son, Terry G. Parker and wife, Cathy, of Gaffney; a brother, Lefoy Parker of Blacksburg; a sister, Lib Blanton, of Gaffney; and a loving companion for 23 years, Shelby Greene.
Mr. Parker was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammie Parker; two brothers, T.J. Parker and Earl Parker; and a sister, Emma Jean Phillips.
Visitation was Sunday, July 25, from 1:30-3 p.m. at Fairview Baptist Church. Services immediately followed at 3 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Stuart Kersey, the Rev. Brad Holmes and Dr. Terry Duvall officiating. Interment was in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
