Eva Lou Hollifield

CHESTER – Eva Lou Ellis Caldwell Hollifield, 92, died Friday, July 23, 2010, at Chester Regional Nursing Center.

A funeral service was held Sunday, July 25, at 3 p.m. at Smyrna Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James Mitchell and Dr. Dwight Pearson officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. The family received friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.

Born in Lattimore, N.C., on Oct. 31, 1917, a daughter of the late Jesse Hugh Ellis and Della Blanton Ellis, Mrs. Hollifield was a graduate of Blacksburg High School and a member of Smryna ARP Church. She was formerly employed by Western Auto of Blacksburg. Mrs. Hollifield was the widow of Herbert Andral Caldwell and William Tull Hollifield.

She is survived by two sons, Bill Caldwell and his wife, Hart, of Chester and Hugh Caldwell and his wife, Patsy, of Lexington; four grandchildren, Andy Caldwell and Missy Barton, both of Lexington, and Susan Lalli and Elizabeth Caldwell, both of Chester; and seven great-grandchildren, Tyler and Bryson Caldwell, Zac and Hannah Barton, Hunter, Hayden and Maria Lalli.
