Betty Mullinax

Betty Sue Campbell Mullinax, 81, of 1147 Champion Ferry Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 29, 2010, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Cleveland County, N.C., she was the widow of Johnny C. Mullinax and daughter of the late Charlie Campbell and Maggie Ruppe Campbell. Mrs. Mullinax was retired from the textile industry and a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Surviving are four sons, Melvin Mullinax and wife, Lillie, Ronald E. “Chic” Mullinax and wife, Karen, James “Mike” Mullinax and wife, Pat, and Joe Mullinax and wife, Debbie, all of Gaffney; a daughter, Sandra Kaye Mullinax Wilkerson of Gaffney; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Roger Mullinax; two sisters and five brothers.

The family will receive friends Saturday, July 31, from 1-2 p.m. at Fairview Baptist Church. Services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Stuart Kersey officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Mullinax will be escorted to her final resting place by her children.

The family will be at the home of Ronald “Chic” and Karen Mullinax, 150 Beason Road, Gaffney.
