John B. Dawkins
John Blake Dawkins, 61, of 865 Concord Road, husband of Yvonne Sloan Dawkins, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2010, at 3 a.m. at his residence.
Son of the late King David Dawkins Sr. and the late Tollie Thomas Dawkins, he was born on Feb. 20, 1949, in Cherokee County. He was a member of Allen Temple C.M.E. Church and a retired employee of Fiber Industries in Earl, N.C. Mr. Dawkins was also selfemployed and owned a lawn care and auto shop. He was a 1968 graduate of Granard High School and a United States Army veteran.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Kendrick Omar Dawkins of Gaffney; three brothers, King David Dawkins Jr., Bobby Gene Dawkins and Terry Wayne Dawkins Sr., all of Gaffney; a sister, Annie Ruth Dawkins of Spartanburg; two grandchildren; his mother-in-law; four sisters-in-law; four brothers in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family is at the residence at 865 Concord Road.
