‘We Are One’ featured in outdoor concert Aug. 12 at Cherokee County Public Library
“We Are One,” composed of (l-r) Earl Vernon, Vincent Hambright, Kelly Manning, Evertt Scott Carpenter, Michael Logan and (sitting) James Posey, will present a special “Music Sandwiched-in” outdoor concert on Thursday, Aug. 12, at the Cherokee County Public Library in Gaffney.
Composing the multi-talented group are Earl Vernon, Vincent Hambright, Kelly Manning, Evertt Scott Carpenter, Michael Logan and James Posey.
The songfest gets under way at 6:30 p.m. in the library's parking lot and continues until 8.
Most of the songs the group will perform were popular in the 60s and 70s and this band of friends is ready to take you back to a time when Soul and Pop were king and everybody loved to dance.
In September 2009, "We Are One" performed for a standingroom only crowd at the library's monthly "Music Sandwiched-In" concert and requests for an encore performance have been coming fast and furious, said Kenny Covington, circulation manager, adult programmer and PR director for the library.
"We are very excited to have ‘We Are One’ for a return engagement,” Covington said. “They presented a fabulous concert last year and we've had many requests for them to perform again. We hope everyone can make it to Thursday’s show, and if you come, bring a lawn chair.”
Free refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library.
