THE BIG PEA — Shown above are Bennie Blalock, Susie Alexander Davis and Rick Poole in front of the big pea at Millennium Park in downtown Chicago. “We were there for the Eric Clapton Guitar Festival,” Blalock, owner of Bargain Shoes, said. “Rick is a former Gaffneyite who now lives in Anderson and works in Greenville at S.C. Vocational Rehabilitation. His sister, Rachel Hawkins, is a case worker at Brookview. It seems that helping others runs in the family.
