BLACKSBURG – Jack Wayne Wilkins, 66, passed away Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital in Spartanburg after a brief illness.
Mr. Wilkins was born in Gaffney on Jan. 22, 1944, a son of the late Jack Gibbs Wilkins and Bessie Juanita Baldwin Wilkins. He was a
retired truck
driver and was
a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Wilkins was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are two daughters, Beverly W. Kurtz of Buffalo and Jennifer W. Rogers of Union; a brother, Gibbs Wilkins of Edisto Island; two sons and eight grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 11, at 3 p.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens in Gaffney, conducted by the Rev. Johnny Burgess. The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.
Family members are at their respective homes.
