Maxine Reese
SPARTANBURG – Maxine Spencer Evans Reese, 70, of 226 Rosecrest Road, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2010 at Smith Phayer Hospice House.
Born in Rutherford, she was the wife of Bill Reese and daughter of the late Mack D. Spencer and Corrie Splawn Spencer. Mrs. Reese was retired from J.H. Montgomery and was a volunteer poll worker. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her husband, surviving are a daughter, Teresa Lawter of Gaffney; a step-daughter, Charlene Couch and husband, Paul, of Cary, N.C.; three step-sons, Kevin Reese and wife, Mandy, of Mint Hill, N.C., Daniel Reese of Belmont, N.C., and Dereck Reese and wife, Crystal, of Kings Mountain; three brothers, Douglas Spencer and wife, Christine, of Astatula, Fla., Dwight Spencer and wife, Linda, of Gaffney and Donald Spencer of Forest City; three sisters, Hazel Pate of Rocky Mount, N.C., Lynette Rudisail and husband, Boyd, of Gaffney and Brenda Kirby of Cowpens; two grandchildren, Craig Williams and wife, Stacie, and Teddi Taylor; three great-grandchildren, Savannah Williams, Garrett Williams and Autumn Reese; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday, Aug. 16, at 11 a.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Allen Blanton officiating. Interment will be in Springhill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation was Sunday, Aug. 15, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.
