Samuel (Bobby) Hambright

PACOLET – Samuel Ben David (Bobby) Hambright, 60, of 640 Zion Church Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Dana Thomas Hambright and son of Nancy Hambright Jones of Gaffney and stepson of Earl Jones. He was employed by Springs Industry and a U.S. Army

veteran, serving

in the Vietnam

War. Mr. Hambright was a Purple Heart recipient and was a member of the Green Beret Special Forces. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jerry Hambright of Gaffney; a stepson, Dale Robertson of the home; two brothers, Dale Hambright and wife, Joann, of Gaffney and Joey Hambright and wife, Sherry, of Clarksville, Tenn.; three sisters, Susie Pearson and husband, Billy, and Brenda Allison and husband, Raymond, all of Gaffney, and Lindy Trober and husband, Sam, of Clarksville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Devin Hambright and Carley Spencer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, David Lee Hambright.

Services were held Sunday, Aug. 15, at 4 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carrol Caldwell officiating.

Visitation was Saturday, Aug. 14, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.
