Helen Jennings
SPARTANBURG – Helen Cobb Jennings, 93, formerly of Spartanburg, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Born in Anderson, she was the widow of Edward Lee Jennings and daughter of the late John P. Cobb and Lola Partain Cobb. She graduated from WLT High School in 1934 and retired from Lyman Printing and Finishing after 34 years of service.
Mrs. Jennings was a former member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher and choir member. Duncan Memorial thereafter combined with Central United Methodist Church, where she was a member at the time of her death.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and two sistersin law, Gladys Jennings and Alma Brooks, both of Spartanburg.
She was preceded in death by two step-brothers, Fred W. Cobb and Claude H. Cobb; and a step-sister, Gladys Cobb Baines.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, Aug. 19, at 1 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with the Revs. Susan Ray and David H. Cobb officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service.
