Bank cards from an Edgefield woman’s wallet, which were stolen while she was shopping in Boiling Springs on Aug. 15, were used to rack up more than $300 in purchases at several Gaffney businesses, according to a report at the Gaffney Police Department.
According to the report, the woman’s bank cards were used at four stores at Prime Outlets — Gaffney and also at Walmart between 4:18 p.m. and 4:35 p.m. Aug. 15.
More than $4,000 in copper and other items were reported stolen following a burglary on Horse Creek Road.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone took a large amount of copper, a radio, and scrap wood from a construction site in the 200 block between 5 p.m. Aug. 13 and 2 p.m. Aug. 16. The victim of the theft is listed in the report as Forbes Construction of Cowpens.
More than $500 in copper and other items were reported stolen following a burglary on Goucher School Road.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone forced entry to a building in the 900 block between 9 p.m. Aug. 15 and 8 a.m. Aug. 16 and took $500 in copper wiring, welding leads and drop cords.
The Gaffney Police Department reported a case of malicious damage on Fairfield Drive.
According to a police report, someone shot a BB through the window of a home in the 100 block between 8 p.m. Aug. 16 and 6:30 p.m. Aug. 17, causing about $100 in damage.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office reported a break-in on Bear Den Road in Blacksburg.
Someone forced entry to a home in the 100 block between 5:45 a.m. and 5 p.m. Aug. 18, causing about $20 in damage.
Nothing was reported missing from the interior, police reported.
An air conditioning unit valued at $3,000 was reported stolen Aug. 19 from a residence on 9th Street.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone took a Concept 1000 model air conditioning unit from a home in the 700 block between 2:30 p.m. Aug. 18 and 3 p.m. Aug. 19.
Police said the thief or thieves also cut the air conditioning hookups on the side of the home..
Nearly $15,000 in property was reported stolen after the burglary of a camper and storage building on McKowns Mountain Road was discovered.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone forced entry to a camper and storage building in the 1900 block between March 20 and Aug. 13.
The thief or thieves took $3,200 in hunting gear, $4,500 in fishing gear, $550 in tools, $550 in appliances, a Massey Ferguson tractor valued at $4,600, chain saws, batteries and a Bush Hog.
Gaffney Police are on the lookout for a burglar with a flesh wound.
According to a police report, someone forced entry to a home in the 200 block of West Fairview Avenue between 6:30 p.m. Aug. 13 and 7 a.m. Aug. 14.
Once inside, the burglar went through all the closets and a table. The burglar apparently cut himself or herself while gaining entry through a window and left blood on the window sill, a bathroom wall, the living room floor and the floor of the home’s foyer.
In addition to blood evidence, police recovered a brick that most likely was used to force entry to the home.
Damage is estimated at $300.
The Gaffney Police Department is investigating a group assault that occurred in broad daylight Aug. 12 outside the Goodwill store on West Floyd Baker Boulevard.
According to a police report, a 26-year-old woman from Church Hill, Tenn., was exiting the Goodwill store at about 4:40 p.m. when a white 4-door car with Virginia plates drove by and the occupants of the vehicle started cursing at the woman.
Three women and one man then got out of the car and started assaulting the woman, according to the report.
Police were told the male occupant of the car then kicked the woman in the mouth and the attackers then poured motor oil on the woman. The woman suffered a chipped tooth in the attack.
Two witnesses saw the attack happen, according to the report, and were able to give police the license plate number of the attackers’ car.
More than $1,100 in property was reported stolen following the burglary of a Peeler Creek Road home.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone forced entry to a home in the 200 block between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Aug. 13.
The thief or thieves took a 32-inch Vizio television, a Xbox 360 video game system, two Xbox games and a jewelry box.
A burglar forced entry to home on Pierce Lane recently.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone broke into a home in the 100 block between 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Aug. 14 and took $10 in prescription medication from the home.
Nearly $1,000 in fishing and lawn gear was reported stolen following the recent burglary of a storage building on Beltline Road.
According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone entered a storage building in the 100 block between July 3 and Aug. 13 and took a red-colored Murray tiller, two Ambassador fishing rods, a red-colored Murray push mower and a red-colored Troy Bilt leaf blower.
A vehicle recently was vandalized on Annette Street.
According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone jumped on the hood of a vehicle and kicked out its windshield while it was parked in the 200 block between 11:30 p.m. Aug. 12 and 1 p.m. Aug. 13.
Damage is estimated at $200.
Gaffney Police charged a Marion Avenue woman with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature recently in connection with an Aug. 13 crash on Mary Bramlett Alley.
According to a police report, officers were dispatched to Mary Bramlett Alley at about 12:30 p.m. Aug. 13 regarding a report of an accident and found a moped sitting on the side of the roadway.
Police said the driver of the moped had gone to Upstate Carolina Medical Center for treatment.
Police said Kellie Lee Littlejohn, 28, of Marion Avenue, subsequently went to the Gaffney Police Department and admitted to running the driver of the moped, a 29-yearold Spruce Street man, off the roadway. During the incident, police alleged Littlejohn also ran through a chain link fence at a property owned by the Cherokee County School District, causing about $3,500 in damage.
More than $7,000 in property recently was reported stolen from a vehicle and a carport on Fitch Road.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone took a saw and table, lawn equipment and a stove after entering a vehicle and carport in the 100 block between Aug. 14 and Aug. 15.
More than $1,200 in property was reported stolen recently following a burglary on Caldwell Road in Blacksburg.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone entered a residence and two outbuildings in the 200 block between Aug. 10 and Aug. 15.
A 26-inch television and stove were taken from the residence.
More than $400 in property was reported stolen following the recent burglary of a Colony Road, Pacolet, business.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone forced entry to a business in the 100 block between Aug. 14 and Aug. 15 and took a box of .32 caliber ammunition, a .22-caliber Winchester rifle, miscellaneous coins, a coin separator and a roll of stamps.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office recently reported an attempted burglary and a burglary at two separate properties on Quarter Round Road.
Someone cut the padlock off one building in the 1300 block between Aug. 14 and Aug. 15 but nothing was reported missing.
The padlock on another building in the 1300 block was cut off during the same time span and the thief or thieves took welding leads and a welding gun valued at $440.
A heat pump valued at more than $3,000 was reported stolen following a burglary on Pierce Lane.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, the heat pump was taken from a home in the 100 block between July 31 and Aug. 14.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office recently reported a burglary at a Killion Drive apartment during which a man walked into the apartment but was scared off by a resident.
According to a police report, the incident occurred at about 9 p.m. Aug. 14 in the 100 block.
Police were told the unknown man came into the apartment through an unlocked door but fled.
An estimated $2,500 in property was reported stolen from a 2nd Avenue business.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone removed electrical system parts from five boats at Smith’s Marine in the 1000 block between 8 p.m. Aug. 11 and 8 a.m. Aug. 13.
A vehicle recently was reported stolen from the 200 block of Boiling Springs Highway.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone took a tan-colored 1999 Buick Regal from the 200 block between 2 p.m. Aug. 13 and 2 a.m. Aug. 14.
The vehicle is valued at $2,000.
