Miss Gallman, Mr. Turner wed July 17 in Charlotte
MRS. HARLEY JAMES TURNER IV (CARLIN CLARY GALLMAN)
Carlin Clary Gallman of Fort Mill and Harley James Turner IV of Spartanburg exchanged marriage vows on Saturday, July 17, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Charlotte, N.C. The Rev. Bobby Morrow III officiated the double ring ceremony at 5:30 p.m.
Guests were greeted by the bride's cousin, Margo Elise Sackin, of Greenville and Elizabeth Kier Turner, sister-in-law of the groom, of Charleston.
Escorted and given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a gown of natural silk shantung, featuring ruching from the top of the gown to the hip. A sweetheart neckline added elegance to the dress. Her cathedral veil of tulle was adorned with Swarovski crystals. She carried a lucky penny in her shoe that her grandfather, Drayton Clary Jr., gave her grandmother on their wedding day in 1950. She carried a bouquet of white flowers.
Maids of honor were Monica Nicole Lofe of Charleston, best friend of the bride, and Ann Ashley Wood, cousin of the bride, of New York, N.Y. Bridesmaids were Jacqueline Turner Odum, sister of the groom, of Atlanta, Ga.; Laurie Hendrix Wybenga, cousin of the bride, of Spartanburg; Lauren Kristine Falduti, of Charlotte; Kelly Marie Findley of Aiken; Jennifer Lea Patterson of Columbia; and Lindsay Ann Malek of Charleston.
The attendants wore elegant floor-length black dresses detailed with ruching at the hip. They carried bouquets of various celadon green flowers.
Best men were the groom's brother, Dr. Donald Jensen Turner, of Charleston and his father, Dr. Harley James Turner III. Groomsmen were Michael Kye Gallman, brother of the bride, of Fort Mill; Samuel Man Sai Odum, brother-in-law of the groom, of Atlanta, Ga.; Jeffrey Michael Beeler, cousin of the groom, of Knoxville, Tenn.; Shane Frank Hall of Asheville, N.C.; Jeffrey Lee Barnes, Ryan Dale Brewer and John Noel Strickland, all of Columbia.
Ushers were Greg Roberts of Baltimore, Md., Cody Wells of Ocala, Fla., Matthew Knowles of Conway and Blake Mitchell of Columbia.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael L. Gallman. Her grandparents are Ann Moss Clary, Aileen Tate Gallman, both of Gaffney, the late Drayton M. Clary Jr. and the late Walter S. Gallman. A 2007 graduate of the University of South Carolina, she is currently studying to become a dental hygienist.
The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Harley James Turner III. His grandparents are June Jensen Turner of Augusta, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Harry J. Sams of Tryon, N.C., the late Harley J. Turner Jr. and the late Jack S. Beeler. A 2007 graduate of the University of South Carolina, he is a surgical sales consultant with Stryker Orthopaedic in Spartanburg.
Following the ceremony, the bride's parents entertained with a reception at Bentley's on 27 in downtown Charlotte.
Mr. and Mrs. Turner are making their home in Greenville after a wedding trip to Anguilla.
