 The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that was reported Aug. 30 on Blackwell Road, Blacksburg.

According to a police report, a 42-year-old man was outside his home when a brown vehicle approached him at about 10 p.m. The man told police he spoke with the driver and subsequently was attacked when he turned around.

The driver of the vehicle, known only by a first name, first allegedly assaulted the man by striking him in the head and torso with his fists and then allegedly assaulted the man by striking him with a baseball bat.

The robber allegedly stole about 80 pills of the prescription drug Xanax and about $40 in cash from the victim, according to the police report.

The robbery victim required treatment for his injuries.

 An estimated $400 in property was reported stolen following a recent burglary on Kraft Street.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone broke into a residence in the 1200 block between noon and 4:30 p.m. Aug. 27 and took a Playstation game system and 10 games.

Two witnesses allegedly saw a 15-year-old boy entering the home but no charges have been reported.

 Another burglary in the Goucher community was reported by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

Between 9 a.m. Aug. 28 and 11 a.m. Aug. 29, someone entered a storage building in the 100 block of Goucher Green Bethel Road and took a Craftsman drill bit set, a Craftsman cordless drill, a Black & Decker cordless drill and miscellaneous sockets.

The thief or thieves also cut a power cord from a battery charger.

Theft and damage losses are estimated at $605.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office previously reported five other burglaries in the Goucher area, three that targeted storage buildings on Goucher School Road and two that targeted homes on Upton Road.

 Thieves not only targeted the contents of a storage building, but also the storage building itself.

According to a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, a 12 foot by 16 foot storage building and all of its contents were stolen from a property in the 100 block of Rolling Mill Road between Aug. 1 and Aug. 24.

The building contained numerous items, including furniture, tools and a computer.

Theft losses are estimated at $10,800.

 A vehicle on Foxfire Drive was vandalized.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office reported that someone shattered the windshield of a 2002 Dodge parked in the 100 block between 8 a.m. Aug. 26 and 9 a.m. Aug. 27.

Damage is estimated at $500.

 A thief stole a leaf blower from a carport on Chestnut Ridge Road recently.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, a Homelite leaf blower was taken from a carport in the 300 block at about 9:40 a.m. Aug. 27.

The leaf blower is valued at $100.

The thief allegedly left the scene in a gray Jeep Cherokee with white-letter tires and a loud exhaust.

 The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office reported a burglary on Mullinax Circle, Blacksburg, on Aug. 27.

According to a police report, someone gained entry to a home in the 200 block between 8:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. and took a Boost brand mobile phone, a computer and a lawn mower.

 An all-terrain-vehicle was reported stolen from a Holly Grove Road property recently.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, a “Bush Hog” ATV, red with flame stickers on the two front fenders, was stolen from a property in the 700 block between 7 p.m. Aug. 26 and 6 p.m. Aug. 27.

The ATV is valued at $2,000.

 A window air conditioning unit was reported stolen following a burglary at Connecticut Village Apartments.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone entered an apartment at the complex between 7:30 p.m. Aug. 26 and 4 p.m. Aug. 28 through a kitchen window.

A window air conditioning unit valued at $100 was the only thing reported missing.

 A flat-screen television and video game system were reported stolen following an Aug. 27 burglary on South Oliver Street.

According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone kicked open the front door of a residence in the 500 block between 2:45 p.m. and 11:50 p.m. and took a 32-inch Dynexbrand television and a Playstation 3 video game system.

The electronics are valued at $658.

 Two sheds on Poplar Street were broken into between Aug. 27 and Aug. 28.

According to the Gaffney Police Department, a thief or thieves broke the window on one shed and forced entry to another in the 100 block.

A shop-type vacuum and a lawn mower were stolen.

 Approximately $850 in theft and damage losses were reported after someone broke into a car in a Settlemeyer Street parking lot Aug. 28.

According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone smashed the passenger side window of a 1985 Oldsmobile parked in the lot between 1:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. and took a Pioneer radio from the dashboard.

 Gaffney police are on the lookout for two men who stole a pressure washer from a Stuard Street hotel.

According to a police report, the pressure washer was stolen from the Jameson Inn between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. Aug. 28.

The theft was captured on video surveillance tape, which was turned over to investigators.

The thieves fled in a white Chevrolet, according to the report.
