Edward Ferdinand
BLACKSBURG – Edward Chester Ferdinand, 84, of 103 N. Calles St., passed away Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at the Regional Hospice Home.
Born in Queens, N.Y., Mr. Ferdinand was the widower of Grace Louise Smith Ferdinand and son of the late
Jerome and Edith Wehler
Ferdinand. Mr.
Ferdinand was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and received a Purple Heart, Bronze and Silver Stars, World War II Victory Metal, and the American Campaign Ribbon. He was of the Catholic faith.
Mr. Ferdinand is survived by special friends, Peggy and Buddy Owens.
Services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 2 p.m. in Gordon Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Gregg Martin and the Rev. Lucky Earls officiating. Entombment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens.
Visitation was Tuesday, Aug. 31, at Gordon Mortuary from 6-7:30 p.m.
