Shirley Dover

BLACKSBURG – Shirley Huskey Dover, 75, of 422 N. Charleston St., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at Unihealth Post-Acute Care in Aiken.

Born in York County, she was the widow of James William Dover and daughter of the late Paul Huskey and Arlie Ramsey Huskey. Mrs. Dover was retired from the textile industry and was a member of Kings Creek Church of God.

She is survived by three sons, Ronald Dover and wife, Joyce, of Gaffney, Dean Dover and wife, Mary, and Jerry Dover, all of Blacksburg; four daughters, Vickie Jones and husband, Wayne, and Jane Turner, all of Blacksburg, Donna Sherrill and husband, Mike, and Tammy Lunsford and husband, Chris, all of Clover; two brothers, Ricky Huskey of Gaffney and Sonny Huskey of Blacksburg; five sisters, Bonnie McCarter and husband, Arthur, of Clover, Patsy Shytle and husband, Harold, of Shelby, N.C., Carolyn Turner and husband, David, of Ellenboro, N.C., Brenda Martin and husband, Steve, of Blacksburg and Billie Durbin of Shelby; 32 grandchildren; 49 greatgrandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael William Dover; a daughter, Peggy Ann Seay; a brother, Dale Huskey; a sister, Marie Stewart; and a grandson, Jeffrey Simpson.

The family will receive friends Thurs- day, Sept. 2, from 2:30- 4 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Services will immediately follow at 4 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ashby L. Blakely officiating. Interment will be in Kings Creek Church of God Cemetery.

The family will be at 333 Mullinax Circle, Blacksburg.
