CARD PARTY
CARD PARTY – The Cherokee Children's Home held its first Card Party on Aug. 26 at Buford Street United Methodist Church. Approximately 80 women enjoyed an evening of desserts, door prizes and cards. Debbie Clary, chairperson of the Board of Directors of the children's home, was in charge of the event. “We are so pleased with the turnout and look forward to making this an annual event,” she said. According to Judy Nix, Director of Development for the children's home, all of the funds raised, approximately $3,200, will go to the Timken Foundation Match and the money will be used to add four bedrooms for children who can't be placed in a room with another child.
