A battery charger was reported stolen from a carport on Woods Farm Road, Chesnee.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone took the battery charger from a carport in the 500 block between 6 p.m. Aug. 28 and 7 a.m. Aug. 29.
The charger is valued at $40.
More than $1,000 in yard equipment and copper was reported stolen from a McKowns Mountain Road property recently.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office report states someone entered a property in the 700 block between Aug. 24 and Aug. 28 and took a 22- inch Murray mulching lawn mower with a 6- horsepower engine, an Echo brand weed trimmer, about 100 aluminum cans and a large amount of copper wiring.
A shotgun was reported stolen from a West Cherokee Street home.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone took a Springfield 20-gauge shotgun, a Winchester knife set and about $15 in change from a home in the 1500 block between 9 a.m. Aug. 22 and 7 p.m. Aug. 29.
Theft losses are estimated at $365.
Nearly $600 in property was reported stolen following an Aug. 30 burglary on North Limestone Street.
According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone forced entry to a home in the 1200 block between 4:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. and took a DVD player, a small amount of cash, a ring and a Blackberry Storm mobile phone valued at a combined $582.
A thief stole livestock medications and a pocket knife after breaking into a storage building on Pacolet Highway.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone cut a pasture fence to gain entry to the storage building in the 3000 block between 11 p.m. Aug. 28 and noon Aug. 30.
The thief or thieves also tried to cut the lock on a second storage building.
The livestock medication and knife, valued at a combined $75, were the only items reported missing.
A jogger running at Cowpens National Battleground returned to his vehicle Aug. 31 to find it had been broken into.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone forced entry into the vehicle between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. and rummaged through the center console.
A wallet was stolen from the car.
An estimated $1,200 in electronics was stolen from a car while the car owner stopped for lunch Sept. 1 at a city restaurant.
According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone entered a 2006 Chevrolet Impala parked outside the Taco Bell, 1700 W. Floyd Baker Blvd., between 12:45 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. and took a TomTom satellite navigation unit and a Lenovobrand laptop computer.
A thief targeted three cars for burglary at a Factory Shops Boulevard parking lot Sept. 1, and stole a stereo from one car’s dashboard.
According to the Gaffney Police Department, the radio theft occurred between 6:30 p.m. and 9:42 p.m. near the Gaffney Entertainment Center.
Police noted that two cars parked next to the vehicle missing its radio also had been tampered with but nothing was taken from them.
The stolen radio is valued at $150.
Nearly $900 in lawn equipment was reported stolen from a Union Street property.
According to the Gaffney Police Department, an Echobrand leaf blower and an Echo-brand weed trimmer were taken from a property in the 400 block between 8 p.m. Aug. 31 and 6 p.m. Sept. 1.
Several firearms were among the items reported stolen following a recent burglary on Oak Forest Circle.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone forced entry to a residence in the 200 block between 7 p.m. Aug. 27 and 4 p.m. Aug. 31 and took a pistol, two rifles and jewelry valued at a combined $1,500.
A Spartanburg woman had to pay $10 for a car wash after her vehicle was pelted with eggs Aug. 30 on Granite Drive.
According to the Gaffney Police Department, the woman was driving in the 400 block at about 8:30 p.m. when one juvenile walking with a group of juveniles ran out into the road and threw eggs at her vehicle.
The juveniles then all fled the scene.
Police said the woman’s 1999 Ford was not damaged.
A car parked outside a West Birnie Street service station was vandalized.
According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone smashed the passenger side window of a car parked in the 200 block between 6 p.m. Aug. 30 and 8:50 a.m. Aug. 31.
The window is valued at $100.
A flat screen television was reported stolen from a Huntington Square apartment.
The 32-inch television, valued at $600, was taken from an apartment between 11:15 p.m. Sept. 1 and 2:30 a.m. Sept. 2, according to the Gaffney Police Department.
Police said there were no signs of forced entry.
