Margie Putnam Kennedy, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010 her residence.

Born in Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late George Putnam and Vickie Ramsey Putnam and widow of John Kennedy. She was retired from Hamrick’s and formerly employed with Middlebrooks Shoe Store. Mrs. Kennedy was a member of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Chris Kennedy and wife, Gail, of Greer, Richard Putnam and wife, Pat, and Bill Putnam and wife, Dorothy, all of Gaffney; four grandchildren, John Putnam, Tina Lee, Scott Putnam and Melissa Putnam; numerous greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Kennedy was preceded in death by five brothers, Bill Putnam, Parnell Putnam, John Putnam, Ralph Putnam and George Putnam; and a sister, Rebecca Spencer.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m. at Oakland Cemetery with Dr. Clyde Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.
