COWPENS – David Keith Chay, 53, of 222 Pickle Springs Road, passed away at his residence on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010.

Born in West Lake, Ohio, he was the son of the late Edmond Chay and Dale Newsome Chay. Mr. Chay was a United States Navy Veteran, a computer technician, chief of the Nokamis, Fla., Fire Department and a volunteer fireman with the Macedonia Fire Department. He was of the Protestant faith.

Surviving is a sister, Cheryl Chay of Sarasota, Fla.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, Sept.r 12, at 2 p.m. at the Macedonia Fire Department, 337 Macedonia Road, Gaffney.
