Rosa Underwood

WOODRUFF – RosaMae Underwood, 56, of 164 Underwood Drive, entered into eternal rest Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Underwood was the wife of Calvin Underwood and daughter of Jacob Hunter Sr. and the late Valiree Dewberry Hunter. She was a native of Cherokee County, a member of Island Creek Baptist Church and a 1973 graduate of Gaffney High School.

Survivors include a daughter, Alyson Underwood of Alexandria, Va.; a son, Christopher Underwood of the home; three brothers, Rev. Jacob Hunter Jr., Roy Hunter and A. Ray Hunter, all of Spartanburg; and two sisters,

Margaret Sarratt of Spartanburg and Gloria Daw-kins of Cowpens.

Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 27, at 2 p.m. at Island Creek Baptist Church, Cowpens. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.

The family will receive friends, Friday, Aug. 26, at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel from 7-8 p.m.

The family will receive friends at the home.
