FRIDAY FIRE
— No injuries were reported but a Friday evening kitchen fire filled a Chaucer Drive apartment with smoke. City of Gaffney Firefighters were dispatched to Chaucer Drive at 6:12 p.m. and noted light smoke showing, according to a report from the fire department. An occupant of a single-story duplex told firefighters her kitchen was on fire and firefighters made an immediate interior attack. The fire started on a stovetop and spread to some cabinets, but overall damage was not substantial, firefighters reported.
