VEHICLE FIRE
This vehicle fire occurred Wednesday in the parking lot of the Subway restaurant on Hyatt Street. City of Gaffney firefighters were dispatched just after 4 p.m. and reported a working fire upon their arrival. Restaurant employees called Cherokee County E- 911 after noticing smoke coming from under the hood of this Volkswagen Passat, owned by one of the restaurant workers, and even tried putting out the fire themselves using a fire extinguisher. The flames quickly progressed, however, and the vehicle was fully engulfed. There was no immediate word on what caused the fire.
