Friday wreck sends two to hospital
Two people were taken to the hospital following a Friday morning wreck at South Logan and West Rutledge Streets. Working during a steady rain shower, City of Gaffney firefighters used hydraulic extrication tools to pop open the door on one of the vehicles so they could access the female driver. The woman wasn’t trapped but the vehicle’s driver’s side door had become inoperable as a result of the collision, firefighters said. The woman was taken to Upstate Carolina Medical Center, as was a male passenger in the second vehicle involved in the crash. An accident report from the Gaffney Police Department was not immediately available.
