Christian comedian Kim Coleman special guest at ‘Spectacular Thursday’ event Feb. 23

The women’s event "Spectacular Thursday" will be held Feb. 23 at 6:30 p.m. in the Buford Street Church's Family Life Center with Kim Coleman as special guest speaker.

"Spectacular Thursday" offers dinner and a special program to women of the community with table service by men of local churches. Tables seating seven are available and individual tickets are $10 each.

KimColeman is an actor, comedian, director, writer, instructor and producer having been involved in theatre for the past 20 years. She has toured nationally performing Christian comedy and is a member of Grace Covenant Church in Cornelius, N.C., where she has served as Director of Adult Drama and Creative Ministries leader. She has taught in five states at the Southern Baptist Creative Ministries Festivals and has taught several of the regional and national Christians in Theatre Arts conferences.

Coleman has released a new CD, "TheLighter Side of Grace," and soon will release a comedy DVD, "In the Beginning...." She says the gift of comedy is a gift from God and delights in using that gift to introduce others to the joy of theLord and His love for them. Her favorite Bible verse is Nehemiah 8:10, "The joy of the Lord is my strength."

In addition to a daily and weekly radio program on two different stations, she finds time to do some television work in the area. She has been seen tackling a Jake Delhomme's body double for Bojangles, running on the Lowes Motor Speedway in the ESPN/Office Depot commercial and impersonating Adam Morrison for the Bobcats commercial among others.
