POLICE REPORT
An estimated $1,000 in damage was reported following a hit-and-run accident on West Floyd Baker Boulevard. According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone struck a 2004 Pontiac while it was parked at Walgreen’s between 10 p.m. Jan. 27 and 8 a.m. Jan. 28. The parked vehicle sustained damage to the passenger side rear fender and bumper.
ffi An estimated $2,000 worth of copper was reported stolen following a recent burglary on Kraft Street. According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone entered a storage building in the 300 block between Jan. 24 and Jan. 27 . There were no signs of forced entry. Copper wire was the only item reported missing.
ffi An estimated $1,250 in theft and damage losses were reported after someone entered apartments on Chandler Drive and stole copper. According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone entered several apartments in the 200 block between Oct. 1 and Jan. 27, tore up walls, broke several windows, and stole copper.
ffi A Pecan Street resident reported the theft of her purse following a Jan. 27 burglary. According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, an unknown man with glasses distracted the resident outside of the resident’s home in the 100 block while another unknown individual entered the home through a back door and stole the resident’s purse. The burglary occurred at approximately 3 p.m. Theft losses are estimated at $250.
ffi Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office deputies responding to an alarm call on Cherokee National Highway discovered that someone had kicked open the back door of a home. Nothing was reported stolen following the incident, which occurred Jan. 17 at approximately 11:30 a.m. Door damage is estimated at $200. A detective and crime scene analyst were dispatched to the scene.
ffi Nearly $3,000 in property was reported stolen following a Jan. 28
burglary on Green River Road. According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone forced entry to a home in the 1600 block between 9 a.m. and 5:40 p.m. and stole a Remington-brand 20 gauge shotgun, a laptop computer, a television and a game.
ffi An estimated $500 in damage was reported following a Jan. 29 hitand run accident on West Buford Street. According to the Gaffney Police Department, the unknown driver of a white-colored 4-door sedan backed into a 2012 Scion parked in the 200 block between 10:10 a.m. and 10:20 a.m., damaging the vehicle’s rear bumper.
ffi An estimated $1,000 in damage was reported following a Jan. 29 hitand run accident at McGraw Street and Limestone Court. According to the Gaffney Police Department, the unknown driver of a tancolored Ford Crown Victoria with chrome rims pulled out of Limestone Court and struck another vehicle in the side. The unknown driver then pulled away at a high rate of speed without stopping, according to the report.
ffi An estimated $200 in malicious damage was reported Jan. 27 at Gaffney Middle School. According to the Gaffney Police Department, two juveniles fired what appeared to be a BB gun into the glass door at the front of the school at approximately 9 p.m.
Both of the juveniles were identified, although there was no immediate report on what sanctions they could face.
ffi Gaffney police served an arrest warrant against a North Carolina man Jan. 30, accusing him of financial identity fraud.
Arthur Charles Camp, 48, whose address is listed as Morgan Street, Forest City, N.C., allegedly used another man’s name to gain employment at Staff Masters, 100 Willis Plaza in Gaffney on or about Aug. 26, 2011, according to the warrant. The charge was based upon the investigation of the Gaffney Police Department’s Detective Division, according to the warrant signed by Det.

ffi A chainsaw was reported stolen following a recent vehicle break-in on Tory Trail. According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone took a 16-inch Stihl-brand chainsaw from the trunk of a vehicle parked in the 100 block between 7:30 p.m. Jan. 27 and 11:50 a.m. Jan. 28. The chainsaw is valued at $60.
