Tammie Ruppe Matheny, 52, of 304 Kraft St., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center .

Born in Gaffney, she was the daughter of Shirley Watts Ruppe of Gaffney and the late Bill Ruppe. Ms. Matheny was formerly employed by Duke Power Company and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her mother are a brother, Billy W. Ruppe of the home; six nieces, Stephanie Ruppe and fiancé, Jason Powell, Katie Hughey and fiancé, Billy Ramsey, Lydia Ruppe, Hannah Ruppe and Desiree Hallman, all of Gaffney, and Emily Ruppe of Santo, Texas; and a greatnephew, Gareth Powell.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Ruppe.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, at Blakely Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Ben Walker officiating. Interment will be in the Lavonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
