Vols, Tigers have their interest Peak(ed)
Gaffney sophomore swing forward L.J. Peak now has offers from Tennessee, Clemson and South Caroilna. Gaffney’s L.J. Peak is a wanted man.
According to a New Year’s Day posting on the VolNation.com website, the sensational sophomore now has an offer from Tennessee in addition to Clemson and South Carolina - the first school to offer the swing forward.
North Carolina State is also expressing a strong interest in Peak but have not offered a scholarship.
“Anytime you can get an offer from an ACC or SEC school, it’s special,” Gaffney coach Mark Huff said.
Peak is sure to get more. He now appears at No. 29 in ESPN’s rankings of the Class of 2014.
Dave Telep, ESPN’s recruting insider, describes Peak as “an outstanding athlete and soft spoken kid who has improved since the summer and is headed in the right direction. Forget the 40 spot he put on Ballard (at the Beach Ball Classic); it’s the combination of an improved jumper and his tenacity that gets you on his side. He’s going to be a stat-stuffing wing player.”
In the Scout.com rankings, Peak comes in at 21, and is the fourth rated swing guard behind Wayne Selden, rated sixth overall; No. 13-rated Jaquan Lyle and No. 19 Tadric Jackson.
