Lora Hubbard

Gaffney — Lora Porter Hubbard, 52, of 2729 Union Highway, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of Douglas Gilreath Hubbard and daughter of Joe Edward Porter and Gayle Keenan Porter. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School, retired from the HR Department of Hamrick Mills, and was a member of Limestone Presbyterian Church where she served in ministry teams and taught the Children’s Sunday School Class. She loved her grandbabies and was known to them as “Nana”, loved her family, loved the beach, and loved music.

Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are two sons, Thad Sparks of Gaffney and Brandon Hubbard of Lexington; two daughters, Summer Nicole Scurry and husband, Jeffrey, of Spartanburg and Amy Renee Bradbury and husband, John, of Charleston; three brothers, Mark Porter, Douglas Porter and wife, Donna, and Joel Porter and wife, Natalie, all of Gaffney; four grandchildren, Jadon Sparks, Jaxson Bradbury, Abby Kate Bradbury and Scarlett Scurry.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Limestone Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jon Van Deventer, Dr. Dwight Easler and Rev. Nathan Wheeler officiating. Interment will be in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Limestone Presbyterian Church after the committal service.

The family will be at the residence, 2729 Union Highway, Gaffney.
