Ledger Staff Writer

An Illinois-based industrial developer is expected to close on a deal soon with Cherokee County.

Speaking at Monday’s Cherokee County Development Board annual meeting with Cherokee County Council, guest speaker and Agracel official Brian Nash said his company hopes to announce a deal in Cherokee County in the next month or two.

Agracel is an industrial developer that buys existing buildings or builds its own.

Agracel has its Southeast regional headquarters in Spartanburg.

Cherokee County Development Board Director Jim Cook declined to comment on Nash’s statement but said he is hopeful the “project will come to fruition.”
