Limestone star named to SE all-region team

STAFF REPORTS

Limestone College senior guard Jasmine Kearse is piling up awards as fast as she piled up points.

The school’s all-time leading scorer has been named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Women's Basketball Southeast All-Region Team.

A two-time Conference Carolinas Player of the Year, Kearse earned All- Region accolades for a second straight season after leading the Saints with 16.5 points per game and 189 total assists during her senior campaign.

She ranks fifth nationally in assists and 11th in NCAA Division II with 5.9 assists per game.

After moving to point guard this year, she proceeded to break the program's single-season assists record in addition to shattering a number of career marks.

Kearse will graduate as Limestone's all-time leader in scoring (2,097), assists (496), three-point field goals (400), games played (132), and games started (121) while ranking third all-time with 293 career steals.

She also holds a number of single season records, setting the high-water mark for points (671) and three-pointers (128) during her junior season before breaking the assists record this year.

She also tied the Limestone program's single game record in scoring after posting 44 points against Lees- McRae last season.
