Gaffney, S.C. — James Michael “Mike” Jennings, Sr., 55, of 387 Dry Fork Road, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at his residence.

Born in Orangeburg, S.C., he was the husband of Marianne Virgilio Jennings and son of the late James Milton Jennings and Miriam Jones Jennings. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, a retired truck driver, a U.S. Navy veteran and member of El Bethel Baptist Church. He loved hunting, fishing, carpentry, welding and barbequing.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Steven Jennings and wife, Brittany, James Michael Jennings, Jr. and wife, Cristina, both of Gaffney and Johnny Donofrio and wife, Lauren of Philadelphia, PA; four daughters, Jackie Norwood of Gaffney, Jennifer Ponder and husband, Mark of Spartanburg, Anna Donofrio and husband Doug Mc- Cusker of Philadelphia, PA and Dawn Donofrio of Gaffney; a brother, Mark Jennings and wife, Nicki of Blacksburg; three sisters, Cindy Patterson and husband, Randy, Deborah Teasley and husband, Chris and Terry Johnson and husband, Ray, all of Gaffney; 22 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jason Norwood.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at El Bethel Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3 p.m. at the Church with Dr. Larry Melton officiating. Interment will be in the El Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: El Bethel Baptist Church, “Carpet Fund”, 116 Billy Goat Bridge Road, Gaffney, SC 29340.

The family will be at the residence, 387 Dry Fork Road, Gaffney.
