Jasmin McGill

Ms. Jasmin Angelica McGill, age 18, of 106 Brookwood Drive, Gaffney, South Carolina, answered the Master’s call on Tuesday morning, August 8, 2017, at 12:54 A.M. at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Daughter of Ms. Sheila McGill of the home and the late William Hopper, Sr., she was born on January 13, 1999, in Spartanburg. She was reared in the home of her grandparents, the late Thomas McGill and the late Cora Brown McGill. She was also preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, the late Wilbert Posey, Sr. and the late Sarah Posey; and an uncle an uncle, the late Wilbert Posey, Jr. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church where she was involved in the Shining Stars, Praise Dancers, Junior Missionary, Junior Usher Board and served as a Counselor in the Anointed Academy Summer Camp. She graduated from Gaffney High where she was involved in the Gospel Choir and the AKA Emerging Leaders. She also participated in the Upstate Cheer Zone directed by Johntae Gaffney and the Giving Back Organization.

Along with her mother, she leaves to mourn her passing: her brothers, Mr. Roderick K. McGill and Mr. William Hopper, Jr (Shanon) both of Gaffney; her sisters, Ms. Quincentia Armstrong of Greenville, South Carolina, Ms. Keanah Hopper of Middlesboro, KY, Ms. Nicole Armstrong and Ms. Kay'cee Hopper, both of Gaffney; her aunts, Ms. Linda McGill, Ms. Brenda McGill and Ms. Queen Lee, ll of Gaffney, and Ms. Mary Bronson and Ms. Shirley Posey, both of Cowpens, South Carolina; her uncle, Mr. Tom Michael McGill of Boiling Springs; her great aunts, Ms. Daisy Dawkins of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Mrs. DeLois Brown Daniels (David) of Chicago, IL, Ms. Ethelene Palmer of Cowpens, South Carolina, and Mrs. Ailene McGill (Arthur) of Washington, DC; her great uncles, Mr. Zebedee Brown (Effie) of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Mr. Willie Brown (Neal) of Cowpens, South Carolina, and Mr. Uzee Brown, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; thirteen nieces and nephews; a special friend, Mr. Keyshawn Watkins; and a host of other relatives.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 14, at 1 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church with Dr. Michael A. Bridges officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. She will lie instate at 12 noon until the hour of the service.
