Fannie Garland

Gaffney, S.C. — Fannie Mullinax Garland, 85, of 2802 Cherokee Avenue, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at her residence.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Obie Edward Garland and daughter of the late Lokie Mullinax and Louise Lanier Mullinax. She retired from TNS Mills, was a homemaker, and of the Baptist faith. She loved crossword puzzles, reading, and her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are a daughter, Dora Garland “Cookie” Blanton of Gaffney; a son, Jeffery Ray Garland of Gaffney; seven grandchildren, Tina B. Wilson and husband, Tommy, Christy M. Brown, Shannon Blanton, Charles Isaac Blanton and wife, Christa, Tracy C. Martin, Katie Garland and Jeffery Ray Wallace; ten greatgrandchildren; a family friend, Bill Humphries. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two daughters, Ruth Garland Brown and Norma “Cricket” Garland Cash, a son-in-law, Tim Blanton, four brothers, Garland Mullinax, Jack Mullinax, Bobby Gene Mullinax and D. B. Mullinax and five sisters, Mary Jane Thompson, Carolyn Butler, Frances Scruggs, Marie Hadden and Lorene Fletcher.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Cherokee County Children’s Home, P.O. Box 1896, Gaffney, SC 29342.

The family will be at the residence, 2802 Cherokee Avenue, Gaffney.
