IRON MEN — Blacksburg High football players Matt Dillingham (77), Brett Lanier (53), Brent Bonner (81) and Vinnie Thompson (17) rub an anvil Friday before the season opener against Walhalla. Players will rub the anvil before each home game in a new pre-game tradition. Coaches hope this will help connect the football team to Blacksburg, known as the "Iron City" in the town's early days.  |
