The Elder Family of Gaffney — parents Mark and Alison and brother Steven — read The Gaffney Ledger at the Marine Corps Recruiting Depot in San Diego, Cal., while attending the boot camp graduation of Pvt. Anthony C. Elder. Anthony is the grandson of Hilda Galloway, also of Gaffney. He has been recruited to play the bass guitar for the United States Marine Corps Band.
