A burned mattress sits outside a home at 208 Wilbur St. in Blacksburg, the scene of a Friday night fire. Blacksburg Volunteer Fire Department members pulled an unconscious man from the burning bedroom of the home and emergency responders whisked him away to a helicopter that took him to a Charlotte hospital. His name had been unknown to firefighters and his status still could not be obtained as of late Sunday.
