If it’s approved, year-round school would not start right away


Cherokee County students would not attend year-round schools before the 2021-22 school year to give time for parents and students to adjust to the change. A year-round calendar distributed Tuesday at Alma Elementary is only a visual aid on how this schedule might look.

Two guilty pleas have been entered after a mother and son admitted to their involvement in the murder and dismemberment of a Gaffney man. Charles Jacob Bridges, 21, of Spartanburg, pleaded guilty Monday to murder in the slaying of 51-year-old Gary James Stone.
