Spartanburg, SC – Barbara Jean Blanton Humphries, 84, of White Oak Estates, formerly of 242 California Avenue, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum.
Born in Spartanburg, she was widow of the late James Donald “Dick” Humphries and daughter of the late James Blanton and Estelle Goodwin Blanton. She was a graduate of Chesnee High School, retired from Spartanburg School District # 7, and was a member of First North Baptist Church. She loved her family, playing piano, camping and traveling, especially to the mountains.
Surviving is a son, Jeff Humphries (Tina) of Inman; a daughter, Melanie Clark (Van) of Spartanburg; five grandchildren, Tyler Clark (Katherine), Christina McRoberts (Davin), Evan Humphries (Meghan), Savannah Heatherly (Brandon) and Gracelynn Wright (Deitrich); nine great-grandchildren, Turner, Emory, Maebry, Lakelynn, Hudson, Lucy, Brayden, Oaklynn and Hadley; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Ann Westbrook.
The family would like to extend special thanks to her family at White Oak Assisted Living.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with Mr. Larry Whitfield officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
