A woman has been arrested for trafficking methamphetamine after the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit caught her leaving a local post office with more than 8 pounds of meth.
Stacy Susanne Bentley, 51, of Blacksburg is charged with trafficking methamphetamine 400 grams or more.
On Friday, May 5, around 2:30 p.m. officers detained Bentley at the Blacksburg Post Office on Pine Street. Bentley had a package containing 8 pounds of meth wrapped in bundles and covered with mustard to mask the smell and avoid detection by canines, according to Cherokee County Sheriff Steve Mueller.
Bentley’s bond was denied by Magistrate Judge John Cook.
