Inman, SC — David Lee Spencer, 79, of 161 Mixedwood Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 30, 2023 at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Born in Union, SC, he was the husband of Kaye Hodge Spencer and son of the late William Toy Spencer and Mary Spencer. He was a graduate of Union High School, attended Spartanburg Technical College, and retired from Hoechst Celanese. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of First Baptist North Spartanburg. He loved his family, fishing, bowling and the outdoors.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a sister, Wilma Adams (Gene) of Union; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Lloyd Spencer, Forrest Spencer, Grady Spencer and William “Dub” Spencer and four sisters, Frances Millwood, Louise Fant, Bonnie Crocker and Betty Horne.
The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 2:00PM on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joel Gardner, Reverend Chris Ellenburg and Reverend Frankie Taylor officiating. Interment will be in the Pacolet First Baptist Church Cemetery.
