Chesnee, SC — Gary Wayne Ezell, 70, of 8112 Parris Bridge Road, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Born in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Dexter Ezell and Margaret Bryant Ezell. He retired as owner/operator of Ezell Rug Company after 30 years of service, was a member of Arrowwood Baptist Church and attended State Line Baptist Church. He loved his family, aquaponic gardening, woodworking, building clocks and was very mechanically inclined.
Surviving is a son, Daryel Ezell (Julie) of Gaithersburg, MD; a daughter, Jamie Bishop (Terry) of Chesnee; a brother, Toby Ezell (Kathie) of Pittsburg, TX; a sister-in-law, Nancy Ezell of Seneca; four grandchildren, Joshua, Trevor, Logan and Keegan; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Ezell and a sister, Judith Parris.
The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 2:00PM on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00PM in the Blakely Funeral
Home Chapel with Reverend Jack Pattillo officiating. Interment will be in the Arrowwood Baptist Church Cemetery.
