Awareness event Saturday

An independent film actress has recently written a film script and starred in a trailer raising awareness for human trafficking.

Logan DeActress, who moved to Gaffney nearly two years ago from Charlotte, fell into a depression when the film industry came to a halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After taking some time to heal, she decided to create her own opportunity and wrote a film script about human trafficking.

The 100-page script for “Logans Rescue” has been completed for some time but she recently hired a videographer to produce the nearly three minute trailer.

“I wanted to make a difference and show people how serious this issue is and raise safety measures,” she said.

Logan hired two local first-time actresses to star in the trailer along side her, Miranda King of Blacksburg and Jada Thompson of Gaffney.

Logan hopes to pitch the script to Disney and Netflix to get the movie produced.

On Saturday, the cast will host a human trafficking awareness event and meet and greet at Carolina Place Mall in Pineville, N.C., from 3-5 p.m.
