Gaffney, SC — Shirley Ann Wright Turner, 84, of 114 E. Rutledge Avenue, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 5, 2022 at Peachtree Centre.
Born in Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late Arthur E. Wright and Ethel Peeler Wright. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School where she was a majorette and help start and retired as office manager of the YMCA in Gaffney. She loved her family and was a member of First Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher.
Surviving is a son, Brian Turner of Gaffney; two brothers, Michael Wright (Donna) of Charlotte, NC and Benjamin Wright of Gaffney; three grandchildren, Brandon Turner, Heather Phillips (Nick) and Ashley Turner; two great-grandchildren, Emma Phillips and Declan Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela “Pam” Turner Watson and two sisters, Vivian Melton and Kathleen Spencer.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Blakely Funeral Home. Memorial services will follow at 3:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tommy Comer officiating.
