Thomas Lee Logan, Sr.




 

 

Thomas Lee Logan, Sr., age 67, of 2007 West Buford Street, Gaffney, South Carolina, answered the Master’s call on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Mary Black Hospital, Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Son of the late Jack Houey of Gaffney and the late Edna Guest Logan, he was born on November 27, 1951, in Gaffney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Florence Logan, Dorothy Logan Dawkins and Susie Lewis; and a brother, Charles Logan. He was a member of Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church. Thomas graduated from Gaffney High School. He was married to Mrs. Elizabeth Morris-Logan. He was the first Black Assistant Manager of A&P and the Assistant Manager of Stouffers for fifteen years.

Thomas is survived by four children, Lisa Logan, Chad Burris, Thomas Logan, Jr. and Britny Logan, all of Gaffney; two sisters, Alma Logan Dover and Ollie Mae Hollis, both of Gaffney; four brothers, Jesse Logan (Carrie), Sammie Logan, Willie Logan and Robert Davis, all of Gaffney; thirteen grandchildren; a favorite nephew, John Boyce Dawkins, Jr. of Gaffney; a favorite niece, Sonya Wicks (Theo) of Gaffney; and a host of host of other nieces, nephews, in-laws and relatives.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 6. The place and time will be announced later.

The family is receiving friends at the residence, 2007 West Buford Street, Gaffney.
