Bids higher than expected for new animal shelter
County officials learned Monday it’s costing more to build a good animal shelter these days. Gaffney-based Sossamon Construction submitted the low bid of $5,438,000 – about one-half million more than county officials estimate of $5 million to build its new animal shelter.
