Limestone women’s lacrosse falls to No. 2 ranked West Chester, ending NCAA tournament runFree Access


 Limestone University’s women’s lacrosse team lost 17-11 Saturday against the #2 ranked West Chester University in the second round of the NCAA Division II Tournament. 

Limestone faced undefeated powerhouse West Chester in Pennsylvania. West Chester (19-0) was the No. 1 season.

West Chester jumped out to a 5-2 lead in the first period and scored five goals in the second to extend their lead to 10-4 at halftime.

West Chester added two more goals for a 12-6 lead in the third. Limestone’s Reese Hjertaas and Shannon Creagh scored late goals, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap.

Hjertaas led Limestone with three goals. Joscelin Martin scored two goals and had two assists. Keira Martin scored two goals and had an assist. Deidre Jones added one goal and assist.

Limestone women’s lacrosse finished 15-6 in their final season.
