Gaffney, SC — Bobby Joe Byars, 59, of 1349 McKowns Mountain Road, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at his residence.
Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late Bobby Dean Byars and Joyce Easler Byars. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, retired from landscaping for the State and was of the Church of God faith. He loved his family, fishing, enjoyed the river, and was an avid Gaffney Indians football fan.
Surviving are four sisters, Betty Byars, Penny Byars, Lisa Byars and Tammi Spencer, all of Gaffney; a special nephew, Kenny Branch of Gaffney; special great-nieces he helped raise, Arihya Spencer and Aleighya Spencer; numerous other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until 11:00AM on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00AM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
